Leaf & Ladle gets 2 stars from me because it's good whenever Mountain Top gets a new restaurant. It's a good alternative to Subway, across the street. HOWEVER... This place needs to learn what "gluten free" means. It really annoys me that places are capitalizing on dietary trends. For those of us who don't do gluten free to be on trend and are actually allergic/intolerance/Celiac, do suffer physically from mislabeling. I had the Pacific Tuna salad with the vegetable soup, which was labeled "gluten free." It had noodles in it, which I'm 99% sure were not gluten free. In addition, my salad also had pasta in it despite that not being listed in the ingredients. I had to pick it out. The soup is definitely not homemade and definitely tasted like canned soup as well. I wish I could say I like this place, but I've been sick for hours with a headache and flu like symptoms as a result of mislabeling. As they say, buyer beware especially when you have allergies and expect a young and inexperienced staff to actually know what's in the food. To add insult to injury, the place was way overpriced. I'll just go across the street to Junie G's next time.

We stopped here on a drive from Chicago to Connecticut because I needed to find a Wifi connection for work. Lunch was very good and the staff kindly let us stay for almost three hours so I could complete the unexpected project. They even offered us free refills on iced coffee. This was a convenient spot of the freeway with good food and coffee, a good wifi connection and very friendly staff. Thank you Leaf & Ladle!

I usually get a chicken Caesar salad at leaf&ladle. The dressing is pretty thick but the salad is always delicious. Recently I tried the Mac & cheese with bacon. There was way too much bacon, which wasn't even crispy and was way too salty. If you get Mac&cheese just please don't put bacon on it because it's nasty.

This place is the best for a healthy lunch! I had their chicken salad, which was light on the mayo, butternut squash and Apple soup, the perfect sweetness, and a pumpkin cheesecake cookie, the bomb. I love this place!

Stopped in for a quick dinner with my wife last night and absolutely loved Leaf & Ladle from the time we parked to when we left the parking lot. The parking spaces are plentiful and the employees at Leaf & Ladle are very friendly and helpful when placing your order at the counter, with some good suggestions in the least imposing way. The food came out quickly and was quite inexpensive for the quality ($20 for a soda, sandwich and soup and salad combo!) Loved the chicken noodle soup and the berry salad; all ingredients were fresh and delicious. My wife loved her turkey wrap, too. Can't wait to return to try the many other options Leaf & Ladle have to offer!

We come here often for lunch after another local appointment. The food is fresh and plentiful. Homemade soups are surely the best I've had. The salads are immense, even the "small" size! There are plenty of ingredients. Loads of voices of dressings. Very friendly, attentive staff. We call each other by name. Very friendly. It's fun to eat here! A delicious way to spend your day. We know each other by name. Even though you order at the counter, your food is delivered to your table. They are very adept at remembering who you are.

This is an excellent alternative to Panera .... local small business owner and good quality sandwiches and salads. The Spicy Gobbler sandwich was pretty decently filled with fresh tasting quality turkey. The salad I had twice was sweet dees delight and the portion is huge, bigger than panera and the chicken in it is also good quality and fresh tasting. Generous with the pecans and apples also. My husband got the chili soup and it tastes like wendys chili but with a spicy kick at thr end and no preservative after taste. Maybe in the beginning they had some hiccup, but not the two times me and my husband had it, we were more than pleased.

I came here about two weeks ago on a Sunday, and I ordered the Sweet Dee's Delight salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The salad was huge, and it was absolutely delicious. And the staff members were all very sweet. This is such a refreshing alternative to all of the pizza places and fast food restaurants in Mountain Top, and I will definitely be returning!

Great alternative to the fast food restaurants! If you want a delicious, fresh meal, then look no further. You can build your own salad, have an excellent sandwich, or have them both. Portions are very generous. I had the chicken salad sandwich with red grapes and a dill mayo and it was wonderful. My guests had salads that they loved, because they were custom made just for them. Lots of fresh iced tea drinks and iced coffee. They also have a full coffee bar. The owners were on hand, working hard alongside their staff. What a great change from the franchise businesses throughout the town. I also enjoyed the fact that the artwork was created by local disabled children and adults, and it is fabulous! I wanted to buy several pictures and will go back to try and do that. Do yourself a favor and have a hearty, delicious meal!

First time there this week. Excellent build your own salad! Had cup of soup as well, more like a bowl. I added a fountain soda as well. Price was around $11.00. Not that bad in my opinion. I'm a big guy and I left feeling very full and satisfied. Servers were very good as well. Will definitely return!

Great soup, sandwich and salad place in Mountaintop! Wonderful variety; you could eat there every day. Healthy choices and fairly priced for the portion received (about a buck more than Panera.) Clean, convenient and trendy; a welcome addition to local dining which is mostly pizza & subs. Only one negative: no free drink refills (stupid, because this costs the restaurant about six cents.)

It was way better than I was expecting. It was a little bit too expensive but overall it was good. They did serve good portions and I thought their food had really good flavor. I would say they had some of the best Mac and cheese I have tried (and I don't usually like Mac and cheese). I would definitely recommend it.

I live in NY/NJ area. It's hard to find places that I enjoy eating when I visit my in-laws in Mountain Top. I was pleasantly surprised when they took me to this restaurant for breakfast. I had the best Mediterranean panini sandwich. The place was clean, fresh, and very pleasant. I'm glad there is a place in town that promotes healthy and tasty eating. The prices are so reasonable. I'm used to paying double in Manhattan what they charge. I will be back for sure to try their spicy gobbler and Clark's beet salad which I hear are fantastic.

I too, enjoyed the food, but for the area it is a bit expensive. I had a chicken salad of comparable size and quality at a new full service restaurant down the road (Theodora's), paid $2 more, and was served a side of bread. No bread or even croutons on the Cobb salad I had at L&L. Panera, I think, would have been about the same amount, with a side of bread. Although I must admit, I did receive something extra -- the tortilla strips from the previous salad on the menu (buffalo chicken?). I asked for a little more blue cheese and was told it was an additional 79cents. Guess you have to do that to control costs. Seating cramped if they are busy. Nicely decorated. My bill for 1 salad - $11. My friend's bill for 3 people - over $40 (two salads, one sandwich, 2 small soups, and 3 beverages). Stars for just the food - 4 (no side - a salad needs something). Because of the cost and cramped quarters, 3 stars. I will go back, as in Mtn Tp, there isn't much of an alternative, but....

Great place for a healthy breakfast and lunch alternative. Stopped in for a late breakfast and decided to take lunch to work with me. Clean and bright dining area and friendly staff. Enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and I can't wait to have the salad and soup for lunch.
